Barangay folks from the different zones of Sto. Nino on February 18 converged at the Barangay Sto. Nino Grotto to reel off the start of the slated activities of the 2020 Barangay Fiesta with the theme, “Alisto sa Pagbabago,Para sa Mabilis na Pag-asenso.”
Wearing their street dancing costumes, children from the barangay led the local parade with the barrio folks in a procession exuding the Image of PIT Senior Sto. Nino. This was followed by a thanksgiving mass and mass baptism officiated by Rev. Fr. Numeriano Gabot of the Sto. Nino Parish Church of Binalonan.
A Free Zumba highlighted the community activity in the afternoon at the Darakbang School grounds led by Zin Junanalyne Gabot, a resident of the barangay.
The festivity was concluded in a Community Night which was graced by officials headed by Congressman of the 5th District of Pangasinan, Ramon V. Guico III, Mayor Ramon N. Guico Jr, Vice Mayor Melicio F. Patague II, Councilors Bryan Louie Balangue and Glory Jovelyn Manaois, with balikbayan guest, Bert Custodio, president of the DRFAA of Michigan and OSCA President, Francisco Guico.
Congressman Guico III, who was the guest of honor and speaker was represented by Vice Mayor Patague. In his message Patague commended the barangay officials for the significant celebration manifesting Filipino traditions and highlighting the Feast of PIT Senior Sto. Nino.
Meanwhile, Mayor Guico gave his accolades to the barangay officials and the community people for manifesting unity and cooperation which are the much needed dimensions for progress among all barangays.
Brgy Kgd. Teodoro Volante, the executive chairman of the Barangay Fiesta 2020 welcomed all guests and barangay folks while Kim Sampayan presented all delegates in the celebration.
Punong Barangay Spassky Cabida thanked the guests, visitors, balikbayans and sponsors. He congratulated his barangay council for upholding the theme of the festivity, generating their cohesive efforts for the success of this year’s barangay fiesta.
Dancing to the wee hours of the evening with intermission of the scheduled raffle draw made the program more enjoyable.

A day earlier, the Multi-Purpose Building which houses the Day Care Center and the Senior Citizen’s Office was inaugurated.
