Regional, provincial and municipal officials of the Department of Agriculture, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, farmer-cooperators and guests on September 27 trooped to Balangobong, Binalonan for the Harvest Festival and Techno Forum.

Spearheaded by the staff of DA Binalonan led by  Municipal Agriculturist Ricardo Tabuac, the one-day activity started with a field visit to the Hybrid Rice Model Farm and method demonstration of mechanized harvesting and land preparation using tractors by ADAMCO Yanmar.

Punong Barangay Gabriel Jesus Bufete represented by Renato Fernandez, a barangay kagawad of Balangobong welcomed guests, visitors and farmer-cooperators.

Meanwhile, Rodolfo Estrada, Jr. ESETS regional coordinator, gave the overview of the Hybrid Rice Model Farm program.

On the other hand, Elmo Baniguen, one of the farmer-cooperators did the presentation of the yield data, cost and return analysis.

Vice Mayor Melicio Patague II was more than elated that such rice model farm exists in the municipality. In his message, he cited the importance of farmers in the society because they are tasked of feeding the entire populace in the country. In addition, the vice-mayor congratulated the initiators and organizers of the rice-model farm project.

Councilor Jerry Aradanas, chairman of the committee on agriculture  had his goodwill message to the co-operators for participation in the techno forum which capped the activities for the day emceed by Cleofe Jacob-Martinez, Binalonan supervising agricultural technologist.
