“The foundation of becoming a good athlete is having a high sense of self-discipline.”
This was disclosed by Vice Mayor Melicio F. Patague II as he challenged and inspired the athletes to be a masterpiece in their sports event in his message during the opening of the Municipal Athletic Meet on September 19 at the Linmansangan Elementary School Social Hall.
Patague representing Mayor Ramon N. Guico, Jr, as Guest of Honor and Speaker commended the athletes, coaches, school officials, Linmansangan Barangay Council and parents for their all-out support in making this athletic competition possible.
The vice mayor also bared that the municipal government is firm in its plan to make South Central School as a center of a world-class sports facilities including aqua sports with the support of Congressman Ramon V. Guico of the 5th district of Pangasinan.
The athletes, coaches and officials of the elementary from Binalonan Districts I and II and the 189 and JGMNHS of the secondary were warmly welcomed by Barangay Captain Renato “Butsoy” Legaspi of Linmansangan.
“Gagawin naming mga opisyales ng barangay ang aming makakaya para tumulong sa pagpapaganda ng mga sports facilties ng paaralan para sa mga kabataan,” informed Legaspi in his message.
Meanwhile, EPS I-In-Charge of Sports, Dr. Enrique Macayan underscored the “One Child One Sports”Program of Pangasinan Division II. He further informed that there are training programs lined-up for coaches and workshops for the preparation of instructional materials and modules for athletes.
SK Federated President, Ronald Biado urged the athletes to strive harder in their field of sports and not to abuse their health, instead,indulge in healthy habits to achieve their goal of getting to the top spot.
The participants of the different delegations were presented by Dr. Conrado Bautista, president of Binalonan Sports Council.
Principal of Linmansangan Elementary School Oscar Juan gave his orientation talk after the oath of amateurism and officials’ pledge led by John Raniel Nogales and Rex Badongen respectively.
The opening program ended with the declaration of the opening of the Municipal Athletic Meet 2019 by Dr. Ferdinand Cabrera, district supervisor of Binalonan II.
The sports events highlighted in this competition were :LarongLahi, Athletics, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis, Taekwando, SepakTakraw and Billiards (Secondary).
