Free Google Station and Smart Wi-Fi Service launched in Binalonan

Binalonan will soon enjoy the benefits of free, open and high-quality internet access through the #GoogleStation#Smart Wi-Fi service in the public plaza and market!

The launching of the Google-Smart Wi-Fi and turnover was held on August 19 at the Binalonan Rock Garden Events Tent. Present were Mayor Ramon N. Guico Jr., Vice Mayor Melicio F. Patague II and the Sangguniang Bayan members with PLDT-Smart VP for Luzon Head for Consumer Business John Palanca, Smart VP and Finance Head Aliz Alarios and PLDT Pangasinan Zone Head John Marasigan.

The Google station service uses the SSID (Wi-Fi name) of “Free Google Station : Smart Wi-Fi.” It offers 30-minute sessions after viewing ads, with option to re-connect multiple times after viewing another set of ads with a minimum speed of connection at 2.5 Mbps.

Mayor Guico Jr. in his message thanked PLDT-Smart for bringing the benefits of the free internet access to more people in Binalonan. He mentioned that this free Wi-Fi project was initiated by then Mayor Ramon V. Guico III, now 5th District Representative of Pangasinan.

In the Philippines, the Google Station service is a partnership between Smart and Google, offering access to fast and free Wi-Fi in selected public areas nationwide.
