On ‘Cloud 9’: WCC ATC Binalonan holds 9th Commencement Exercises

Graduation is one of the most important chapters in a person’s life. For some, it is the fulfillment of a brighter future. For the 167 graduates of WCC Aeronautical and Technological College of Binalonan who received their diploma on June 14 at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center, obtaining their respective degrees is nothing short of “soaring on cloud nine.”

This year’s commencement exercises highlighted the theme, “United Direction Towards Quality Aviation Education,” representing the goal of their educational institution to constantly be at par with the standards of excellence in local and international aviation.

Melody Domine Tulay, BS Aeronautical Engineering graduate, was awarded Magna Cum Laude.

Twenty-four students received their respective Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Major in Commercial Flying, while 19 finished their Major in Airline Operations Management. Meanwhile, 11 graduated with Bachelor in Aeronautical Engineering; 53 with Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology; 31 with Bachelor of Science in Tourism; 3 with Bachelor of Science in Avionics Technology; and 21 with Diploma in Aircraft Technology, and 5 in Avionics Technology.

Meanwhile, 12 graduates were awarded Cum Laude, including Mikhail Antoni A. Osbucan, Vernalisa B. Quines, and Karl Adrian A. Delizo, Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering; Julian Luis M. Serran, Brent Allan L. Juarez, Beatrice Hazel C. Estrada, Mary Shanet Mueller, and Adrian Joed M. Zaidem, Bachelor of Science in Aviation Major in Commercial Flying; Richmond Jay P. Custodio, Sophia M. Cendreda, and Kassandra Kaysha S. Peralta, Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology, and Kathlane Kate D. Salanga, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management.

Retired AFP Major General Ricardo C. Banayad, Commencement Speaker, was represented by Retired Brigadier General Ernesto R. Milo, Supervising Flight Operations Safety Inspector.

In his graduation message, Capt. Ramon V. Guico III, founding president of WCC ATC and 5th district congressman, gave importance of character formation, vision and attainment of goals, and trust in God.

“The formation of right character is always given prime consideration in the school’s curriculum. It has become an advantage of our student graduates in pursuit of their chosen career,” Guico said.

“Define your goal. Have a firm vision of your goal. Your goal will give you direction. Rely or trust in God,” Guico added.

Meanwhile, WCC ATC Senior High School on June 13 held its 2nd Commencement Exercises for
the 109 students at the WCC ATC Multi-Purpose Hall with the theme, “Unity in Diversity: Quality Education for All” {Pagkakaisa sa Pagkakaiba-iba: Kalidad na Edukasyon Para sa Lahat).

Mary Elaine Rebugio Chen led the SHS graduates as recipient of High Honors, while Aimee Cloe Valerie Hular, Ron Matthew Chua, Julienne Alejandrino, Justine Matthew Abulencia, Vanesa Mae Pangaliman, Julie Rose Sanchez, Chezar Val Macapala, Erica Arlee Basilio, and April Arine Malazo graduated with honors.
