Male municipal officials and employees of Binalonan on March 28 cross-dressed and wore make up during the Culminating Program of the 2019 National Women’s Month Celebration at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center.

Prior to the celebration the participants sweated it out in zumba in front of the municipal hall followed by a parade of all the entities showcasing the male in cross- dress from the municipal hall to the gymnasium.

The entrance of the municipal officials led by Mayor Ramon V. Guico III on his pink dress and stiletto shoes generated shouts of joy and stunned the jammed-packed gymnasium. Vice Mayor Melicio Patague II, Councilors Noel Apolinario Bautista, Carl Joseph Patawaran, Jerry Aradanas, Lorenzo Tambo, ABC President Bryan Louie Balangue, and SK Federated President Ronald Biado were also in their female attires.

Male municipal department heads and employees, teachers, police enforcers and barangay captains, SK, farmers, TODA, BMF and Senior Citizens were presented in their female outfits that made them difficult to identify.
Guico in his inspirational message said, “We should be aware of the responsibilities of women and their roles in society. This culmination program is one way of inspiring and empowering women to be agents of change in the community to contribute in promoting gender equality.”
“ What the male officials and employees did today is symbolic of what women do in the society,” he added.

Highlight of the celebration was the Search for Miss Q and A where 21 male candidates from different entities in Binalonan participated. The 21 contenders were trimmed down to 7 and narrowed down to 5 to determine Miss Q and A.

The question, “From your point of view what is the essence of being a woman?” finally made the difference where the following were declared winners: Miss Q & A, Efren Distor of Juan G. Macaraeg NHS followed by 1st Runner-up Villamor Contaoi of Binalonan I; 2nd Runner-up, PO2 Christian Aquinde and 3rd Runner-up Vincent Jay Viloria of the BiMEA. The winners received 10 thousand, 7 thousand, 5 thousand and 3 thousand each respectively.

Meanwhile, Best in Chukchak was Christopher Gamueda of the Sanguniang Kabataan with a prize of one thousand pesos. Ten best dressed males in their cross-dress were also awarded with one thousand pesos each.
The celebration aimed to promote equality between men and women and to let the male participants feel and understand how to be a woman.
