Blue Magaling bags 2018 BiMEA Sports Fest trophy

Team Blue Magaling on July 13 bagged the over- all championship trophy during the awarding ceremony of the 2018 Binalonan Municipal Employees Association Sports Festival at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center.

With a total points of 79 from the games, cheer competition and beauty search, Blue Magaling prevailed over the Red Marunong with 73 points, Green Malinis with 66 points and White Maka-Diyos with 39 points.

Now on its 3rd season, the BiMEA Sports Fest featured cheer competition, search for Mr. & Ms. Sports Fest, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, chess, obstacle run, marathon, tug of war, and giant volleyball.

Led by its Team Coordinator Municipal Agriculturist Ricardo Tabuac, Blue Magaling brought home the championship trophy and will be up for grab during the 2019 BiMEA Sports Festival. The team was also awarded Php 10,000 cash prize, while Red Marunong got Php 7,000, Green Malinis got Php 5,000 and White Maka-Diyos, Php 3,000.

The other team coordinators were Municipal Budget Officer David Madrid for the Red Team, Municipal Accountant Lorna Carissa Orpilla for the Green Team and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Engineer Clarissa Cabacang for the White Team.

In his message, Vice Mayor Melicio Patague II commended the officers of the BiMEA for spearheading the sports event which he described as very colourful and very successful.
Meanwhile, Manuel Luis, Jr., newly installed BiMEA president, lauded and thanked Mayor Ramon Guico III and the Sangguniang Bayan for providing free uniforms for all the employees.
