As the symbol of convergence of tradition, innovation and progressive opportunities, a metal abstract sculpture was unveiled on Feb 12 at Promenade Park (Eastern part of the Rock Garden). Said unveiling was led by Mayor Ramon Guico III, together with Binalonan municipal and barangay officials and employees, and representatives from various sectors, school administrators, teachers and visitors. The sculpture was designed by Victor Secoya, a writer-coach from Davao City. In his speech, Guico said that there the town continues to grow as an eye candy for tourists and investors, thus creating a “convergence” from cross-cultural interactions between locals and visitors. He also proudly announced the possible building of a municipal-owned hotel and the erection of a dancing fountain.
